Soiree

It's a party! Lilyplum has teamed up with
The Blossoms to present the dressiest of the dressy outfits for winter. I was able to use this amazing velvet plaid that I've been hoarding for a few months. :) I bought it this summer and was just waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it. I love the coat dress style and I think this fabric just fits it perfectly. I've got another dressy style up for sale on ebay...and don't forget to check out all the other listings by searching "boutique soiree" on ebay!

Fall Cleaning

My son came home from school yesterday asking when I was going to do my fall cleaning. I definitely spring clean, so I thought he might be on to something! :) This morning was spent going through stashes of fabric. I decided to bundle according to color and tie them up with a pretty bow. I've listed several fabric bundles on ebay right now. My "fall cleaning" is up for sale!

Eden Inspiration

If you've been around ebay for the past few years, you probably remember Jen of Eden's Bouquet. Her style is a wonderful mix of vintage and pure romanticism. I've had the pleasure of working with Jen when she was on ebay and she graciously agreed to come back and design a one of a kind outfit. The rest of lilyplum is delighted to offer our "inspired by Eden creations!"
Here's mine...currently on ebay.

shoes

This isn't a post about sewing, or clothes or even Jillian. I just had to share some cool green shoes I own. :) They are flats...I love that flats are in...they are so comfortable, yet very chic!

Has it really been a year?

Jillian modeled this outfit for Rachel of nzbug last year about this time. I feel like Jillian looks so much older, but it also seems like it was just yesterday. I'm selling it right now on ebay, so go take a look!

Fall Leaves

I'm constantly on the look-out for new places to take pictures. I like the challenge of a new place! This time we went to an abandoned parking lot behind a carpet store and found some fun fall leaves. :)

A little fun in the sun

The last time I went out to take pictures of Jillian it was over 100 degrees. I mentioned before that I will sometimes bring fruit snacks for her as a treat, but we were way beyond fruit snacks. I had to resort to letting her use my snazzy little red point and shoot. She was allowed to take pictures of me and I was allowed to take pictures of her. What a deal! And I think you'll agree...she's cuter than me, but I'm better at taking pictures. :)

Trims

I'm in love with trims at the moment...trims from nzbug to be exact! She has the greatest selection and amazing prices. This was perfect timing for the "old school" auctions seen right now on ebay. I have two for sale, and both have nzbug trims throughout! Have a great day!

Out-takes

If you take pictures of your own children, you know it's difficult! Sometimes a few treats have to be involved. :) This "out-take" is Jillian begging for more fruit snacks. It just makes me laugh because when you look at the best pictures...the ones that make it into the auction...it seems like the children are frolicking about for the camera. So this is the nitty gritty of it. :)

I heart Joel Dewberry

His fabrics are so yummy...they all mix and match beautifully. Right now on ebay there are a whole bunch of designers all working with his fabrics...all in heaven. This is what makes it fun to sew! The outfit you see here on the left is just one of several that I have listed right now.
Enjoy!

I bet they'd be...

....rolling over in their grave...you know the housewives who so carefully ironed their floral tablecloths in the 1940's. Eventually they'd have a few holes and be packed away and somehow make their way to the Alameda Flea Market a good 60 years later. That's where I come in! ...carefully planning and cutting around imperfections to make a sweet little vintage outfit. Enjoy!

Where have we been????

Typically a week doesn't go by that I'm not listing something new on ebay. This summer we had some great opportunities to travel, so ebay got pushed to the back burner. I'm happy to say that we're back and super excited about the transition to fall. This fall will be my 6th on ebay, my how time flies! For our debut we were lucky enough to recruit one of Jillian's friends, Kira, to model with us. Check it out on ebay right now!

rustic and shabby

Found it! I was looking for rustic and shabby...here it is...and no "no trespassing signs" in sight! Here's the result...

in the weeds

Here's my plan B - coming soon on ebay!

no trespassing

So, the inspiration came for this sweet fabric and I had a perfect spot scoped out to take pictures. As I drove by, I'd image where I'd take pictures against the amazing texture of the slightly rusty metal. UNFORTUNATELY Jillian saw this no trespassing sign. Plan B- the side of the building in the tall weeds. More to come. :)

scissors

I've had these since high school. That was my graduation present...a sewing machine and a sewing box full of goodies, including these. At the time, I wasn't really into sewing and honestly wasn't thrilled with my graduation present. :) But, since then the machine produced countless outfits and was traded in for a newer model. All the notions have come and gone, the only thing that's remained are these.
Oh and on a side note, a teacher told me that scissors actually mold to your hand after lots of use and sharpen themselves (these have never been sharpened!). She said never lend your scissors to a friend because their grip will be different and dull the blade. Who knew!?

old school action

The student ministries staff at Neighborhood Church meets "old school" action. Oh and I burned the edges a little. Doesn't it look cool? Not what you'd expect in a church photo, but hey, my guy gave me creative freedom. He's the cutie on the right. :)

waiting for inspiration

I love new fabric...they sit nicely in a pile, waiting to be cut. So, here's the stack, just waiting for some inspiration from yours truly. As of now, I've got none. :) I think I'll head to the pool with my rowdy bunch and hope it comes to me. I'll keep you updated!

Shooting me

Behind the scenes...and it's not all glamorous! I like to have a "prop" when I can, something to occupy Jillian and make taking pictures a little more fun...for the both of us. This time I used a little antique frame. The only problem is lugging it around when she's not holding it! Now is when I need an assistant. :)
